I've got a .44 mag vaquero and the factory grips on the thing are not to my liking, and i was wondering if anybody knew of some good aftermarket grips for it that they liked. any opinions would be great, thanks!

I prefer the Micarta grips, as they are very strong, yet look good.

Micarta comes in black or white.

There is also a hybrid Micarta that has both black and white in it.

Lett also sells wood grips, fake ivory grips, mother of pearl grips (which are VERY FRAGILE), and laminated wood grips.

Try them out, I'm very happy with their products.

I shoot two 7-1/2" SS Vaqueros in my Cowboy Action Shooting. Like you, I was never completely pleased with the feel of the factory Vaquero grip.

I saw an ad for Eagle "Gunfigher" grips and visited their website. The Gunfighter grip is a bit slimmer and makes the Vaquero feel much more like a Colt SAA. I bought one set to try out and immediately bought another for my second Vaquero. You simply can't believe the difference!

I bought the rosewood checkered models and find that they give me a much more stable grip, especially if the weather turns to drizzle during a match. They're available in several other materials as well.

Check them out. Eagle Gunfighter Grips

Thank you all, i think i'll be going with the eagle grips that stellaypod mentioned. thanks again for the help!

I guess I am partial to stag like these grips by Eagle

I have had these for 8 or 9 years. They give a positive grip and look good as well.

The Gunfighter grips are VERY nice, I got mine in buffalo horn (though it did take 2 tries to get a set that fit right).
