Value - Very early H&R 922 Octagonal Barrel

Hi,

I have a very early first edition double action 9-shot H&R 922 with octagonal barrel and gold front sight. Probably 95% on blueing, 90%+ on gun, and 90%+ on checkered walnut handles. Ser# 142330 I think.

Can anyone tell me how collectable this old gun is and an approximate value?

I've checked a few...

and it's been my experience that they aren't worth much. I believe these H&R revolvers were not high-end firearms to begin with. I have one and it's a great shooter, so I judge it's value on that.

I recently paid $85.00 for one. I noticed one NIB in a showcase for $125.00 though. Their pricing is limited to that approximate range.
