Value on a 1945 Colt 1911?

Hey guys, I have the chance to trade for a Colt 1911A1, supposedly made in 1945. Seems to be all original, but the front strap has been textured somewhere along the way. I know this kills value, but any ideas on how much this thing is worth in this condition?

Good catch, I didn't see the short grip safety.

I knew the stippled front strap would kill the value, just didn't know how much.

Yep, agree with Rick, but for me it's $500 tops.

Also, in the pic of the left side (serial # side), it looks like there was grinding done on the frame on the upper left near the pin for the g.s., back toward the upper edge of the grip panel. If so, deduct another $150, minimum.

Hopefully, it's just a 'shooter.'

There are people that restore them. I sold an Ithaca with a front strap worse than yours.

It had adjustable target sights installed , that had to be removed/replaced also. The buyer was going to restore it himself.

No idea what it would cost to restore it?

He was wanting my shooter grade Bulgarian Contract Luger. I was suspecting mine was worth more, now this confirms it. Thanks guys
