Value of Shotgun

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could help me out on what anyone would think my grandfather's shot gun is worth.? It is a Winchester Shot Gun Model 1200-12 gauge 2 three fourths chamber. New Haven,Connecticut USA is what it has on it. It's like brand new, used once . It's a quite older one. I know that. It's in a case also. If anyone could help. let me know
Thanks

I bought a Win 1300 (same basic model but with a 3" chamber) last week, a slug gun (22" smoothbore barrel with rifle sights) for $150. It isn't quite 'brand new' in appearance, it has some dings on the stock from being hunted with, but overall it's nice.

Since the one you have came from your grandfather, IMHO it's priceless...

Try looking up the same model on auctionarms.com and gunbroker.com.This will give you an idea of what the market is paying right now for those models.

They were a less expensive alternative to the Winchester Model 12's / and in my area, they really are not in demand - value is $ 100 - $ 150 tops even in very good shape.

Heather, if you want max $$ for the gun, you should put it on-line at http://gunbroker.com/ and let those who really want that model bid it up for you. Find a friend who is into guns to help you. Take a lot of pictures. I sold a Winchester 1200 on gunbroker about 4-5 months ago for $330 and buyer paid the shipping. It was probably about 90%, maybe 95%, though to an extent condition is in the eyes of the beholder. It was "bid up" between 3-4 bidders...they get a little emotional about it...that's what you want. You'll have to go through an FFL (Federal Firearms License) holder though. That will cost you $25-35 or so...unless you happen to have the license ;).
