Value of SA fully refurbished garand

I'm looking at an M1 Garand that has had the full treatment by Springfield Armory. The only thing that isn't new is the receiver (#3.5 mill+). I looked at the Springfield page and they don't show M1s. This one is beautiful with all new parts and a georgeous stock. Any idea on value as a shooter. And no I don't wish to go through the CMP.
Thanks,

I saw that exact same rifle at the range two weeks ago. Pretty rifle, the guy paid $600. I'd peg the price in the $600 to $700 range. It's basically post war mixmaster that's been commercially refinished and dropped into a well fitted commercial stock. The stock is the only "new" part, that's not a bad thing since even used USGI parts are more valuable than Pacific Rim reproductions or Italian made parts.

To Collectors valuable Garands have original stocks and parts that are all correct for the receiver's build date. Cosmetic condition isn't nearly are important as correctness and originality of the components. Reparkerizing would actually reduces the price of a collectable Garand. For example - an original stock alone, in pristine condition with all the correct markings, can sell in the $200 to $500 range.

What's the barrel? Lock the bolt to the rear, you should be able to see the manufacture's code and production date on the barrel. A barrel date that matches your receiver's production date would add value, though I'd guess it's got a post war replacement barrel. -- Kernel
