Value of Old Ruger Super Blackhawk

A friend of mine is thinking of selling an old Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 Magnum he's had for a long time (but used very little). It is the old style without the transfer bar, etc. (I think they call them "three screw" models - it has screws on the sideplate that aren't on the newer versions). This pistol is in excellent condtion - I'd say 98% finish. It is unmodified from its standard factory configuration. Anyway, it seems like a nice shooter, but I'm wondering if it has any extra "collector value." He's thinking of putting it on consignment at a local store, but I'm wondering if he could do better selling it on the web. What would be a reasonable price range for this pistol? Any websites that would be good to advertise it? Anyone interested? Thanks.

Yep, it's collectible....

The 7.5" barrel is worth around $400. If it has the 6.5" barrel, it will go for around $750+.

There are many collectors that look for the 3-screws so he would probably get a better deal selling over the internet. Less effected by local prices/demand and a larger customer base.
