Howdy the line!

I've started myself on a quest and can't seem to make any progress.

My objective is to find the holster maker who make Val Kilmer's shoulder holster in the movie Tombstone. I've seen some catalogs that say theirs is the same holster, however, most are nowhere even close.

The best I can gather is the holster maker was a gentleman named Frank Trigani. I've done some extensive searching on the web, and cannot locate him. I called the production company for the movie (Cinergi Production Inc.) and spoke with a very nice but clueless individual. I've had leather guys say they'd make the same rig for me, all I needed to do was supply photographs. That may very well me my last option, however, I'd rather get a 'real McCoy' from the man who made the original.

Can anyone help out on this?

Like you, Stealth, I've seen several holster makers who say they make the same shoulder holster that Kilmer wore. And it ain't so. However, I did obtain one of the San Pedro Saddlery versions, which is quite nice even if not exactly like Kilmer's. You might want to consider one -- I'm happy with it. (And I _think_ it's the same holster that Sam Elliott wore in "The Rough Riders.")

Probably too late but..

The guy that designed and built the Doc Holliday shoulder holster as well as most of the principle actors holsters was Rob Gang, he also did the Quick and the Dead holsters and Last Man Standing shoulder holsters. Frank had Rob build most of that stuff under Kevin's approval for Tombstone. Rob works at Cowboy Corner in Prescott, Arizona and is still doing top quality leather work.

You can try looking up Caravan West Productions, it's run by Peter Sheriko (sp). He is sort of a one stop shop for production companies making western movies, shows or themed commercials. He organized alot of the firearms, extras, animal wrangles, holster makers and that sort of stuff. He played Texas Jack in the movie.
