There will be a Militia & Police Committee meeting on Monday, Jan. 29 20011 at 3 PM in the General Assembly building.
Several members of VCDL will be attending. I have also alerted the regional WAGC director to notify the Virginia troops. Perhaps the VA TRT would also like to join us? Of course all support is welcome and needed. Please show if you can get off on Monday afternoon.
Here is the e-mail telling the details of the agenda:
Following up on the Legislative alert, if you can, plan on attending the Militia and Police committee hearing this Monday at 3 PM House Room C to show support for VCDL bills and to stand against the bad bills! We know there is not much notice, but that is how it is going to be this year with the abbreviated session.
Help defeat the Restaurant Ban and fix reciprocity!
Also, here are the e-mail address to contact about yesterday's hearing:
*** Contact Delegate Griffith immediately and let him know that you want HB 1969 to be left unchanged. Explain to him that the Alexandria gun ban modification is totally unacceptable. You don't want to be facing metal detectors in state buildings and don't want to be harassed by local officials. Remind him that gun owners don't want any more of their rights nibbled away***

***Contact Delegate McClure, thank him for introducing HB 1969 and ask him **not** to change HB 1969 to accommodate Alexandria or any other city or county ***
del_Mcclure@House.state.va.us
*** Thank Delegates Ware and Abbitt for **not** rolling their bills into McClures' bill 2130 and providing gun owners with excellent bills ***
