VA-ALERT: Hampton Roads Daily Press on Restaurant Ban

Good article.

First time I've ever seen a paper point out that this wouldn't be a new thing, but would be a return to old policy.

If blood didn't run in the dining rooms before 1995, what makes these idiots think it would now?

As for the restaurant ban, well... Let's just say I don't normally drink when I'm out and about, so I've never really felt all that "constrained" by this particular aspect of the law.

I wrote and thanked the reporter for his even-handed (i.e.professional) article.

He wrote back, "Thanks for the message. You can count on reading more about this in the next couple of days."

So, it looks like the pot will be aboil for a while longer, so we'd better watch it.

BTW, one of my congratulatory paragraphs, when appropriate, always is along this line: "Thanks also for not including the seemingly obligatory anti-gun statement from some MMM or Handgun Control ninny. Have you EVER heard any of these people say, 'In this case, a gun saved a life'? Yeah, me neither."

Hopefully, this plants a seed. Just once I'd like to see a reporter ask that question. Maybe if they are reminded enough, they just might do so.

I am continuously writing the Daily Press and hounding Jim Spencer. I had a letter published this past summer on 'gun control' and have seen a number of other people also telling the Daily Press that they are decidedly pro.Maybe they are starting to get the hint?
