Only 1 so far?

Come on guys! Fess up! Who is coming?
I have contacted Rangemaster and have arranged for space to be available and all that... That last thread I had on this some weeks ago we had a good number.

Also - On the 5th is the Gun Show at the Salt Palace. I am going to be there too - Saturday at 2:00 till I get tired or it closes. Any one going there as well?

Count me and Tank Girl in.

The Gun shows in the Salt Palace are lame.
There are more Beef Jerky tables than gun tables. Cant find decent leather anywhere unless you want SASS style.
BUT -
You can get some good deals on AMMO, Knives, and sometimes - a gun or two. There are some custom knife makers there that make it worth while just to check out.
This time around I may get a sword... Or ShotGun... or Pistol... or - oh hell - I dont know! I will have to look and see!

Mrs. sbryce here.
Thanks for the assessment of gun shows at the Salt Palace, George. Went to our first gun show, period, last Nov. at the Salt Palace. We were pretty overwhelmed, but whaddya expect from newbies? If that was "lame," what's "good"?? Whew! Then again, maybe not dragging along a bunch of small children would help! Even I was kinda surprised at the candle-bric-a-brac tables, though!

Thanks for the url. First I've heard of Range Masters. Sounds absolutely fascinating. What's the cost (aprox.) we're looking at with a discount (finances tight here, so gotta ask)? Will tell hubby when he gets home from sledding with the children. He'll be interested, but I can't confirm for him at this time.

I may be vacationing in SLC area in late April if you hold another meeting then....

BTW, I suppose I should ask: is there still plenty of snow on Alta, Park City, etc., in very late April? Never been, but I been dying to. What's the snow depth there now? Which places allow boarding? TIA. Which are at highest elevations?

Futo,
Current snow reports for all the Utah ski resorts can be found at http://www.snow.utah.com/. Just about any other information you want on the ski resorts can be found at http://www.snow.utah.com/ski/facts/comparison.htm. As for us still having snow in late April.... With how much snow we got this year, I wouldn't count on any of them being open, but ya never know.

Will have to agree on the lameness of the
Salt Palace show. Besides the jerky, they also had a chiropractor there(!). Think the Odgen (Weber Fairgrounds) show a bit better, more gun-related stuff, but thought prices were pretty high.

Won't be able to make the meeting (am in Eastern Nevada, near St. George). Thought we'd be going to see the grandkids and would have worked the side trip in, but we're not going up there for a while. Bummer.

No - The Salt Palace had TWO chiropractors there. TWO.
Futo - Before you leave for Salt Lake... Let me know where you are going to be.
I will send you contact information and will expect you to leave me word... I would like to meet you in person.
That and I just have to know who the better shot is. :D

For those in Utah and around abouts... Looks like there are 2 get togethers brewing.

5th at the Salt Palace - Around 2 near the food bar or the table for the fellow running for the DA office.
I'll be wearing a Black Ball cap with "Cisco" on the front. Goatee, and Gold framed glasses. I am getting rid of my last damned AR and trading for an FAL so I might be carring one or another.

And the 12th at Noon in Springville at Rangemasters as mentioned.

I am hoping that all nearby TFL members will be able to make it to one or another.
Hey - i'll even pay for your parking meter.

I'll be at the gun show on the 5th. I'll be the guy carrying your FAL, George.

OKAY - Just around the corner!
Here is what I got lined up:
1. I have a group discount lined up for us - so the more that shows up - the better the discount will be.
2. A little Gun Trivia quiz.
3. Prizes.
4. The closer association of the finest firearms fans in the state of Utah, and surrounding areas.
Maybe this can lead into a monthly round up and shooting match = or at least an excuse to get out of mowing a lawn one weekend a month by this summer.

George,
Sorry I cannot make it this time. Going to attend a IDPA shoot in SLC same day, But would like to network with other TFL members in Utah in the future. I checked out the range site and would love to see it sometime. Keep me posted on the next powwow!
