Utah - Immediate Help Needed

The Utah Legislative Session starts on Monday, and they are starting the year off with an immediate threat to us all. H.B. 8 will more then likely be heard on the first or second day of the session. This bill is set to eliminate the Utah state defense force (the citizen militia). If
this bill passes, it will be a huge step towards universal disarmament. We urgently need to stop this bill.

PLEASE contact the following people before Monday and ask that this bill be withdrawn or opposed.

Do you have any information on HB 8 at all?
I have a hard time writing a scathing letter about a Bill I don't know the particulars on. :)
 
The State Defense Force isn't there unless the state needs defending. The code they are trying to repeal allows the Governor to fund, arm and train citizens in order to defend the state.

The argument is that since we aren't using it, we don't need to have it. Basicly they don't feel the Governor should have the ability to arm citizens, no matter what the reason is.

At least that is my understanding of their argument of things.
 
Off topic but...

What's going on down there in Utah? Used to be a good state with regard to RKBA. Now it seems every time I turn around I hear some nonsense coming from Utah. You guys get invaded by Californians or something? I hope Utah doesn't go the way of Colorado.
 
Seems like our politicks are starting to cave to pressure from the anti's. We have the same problem everyone does, the anti's are better funded and better organized then we are.

People around here are starting to open their eyes and see exactly what it is that is being stripped from us, with any luck we will be back on track in no time, at least I really really hope we are.
 
A big bump-- we need to keep our guard up- once "W"'s in office the nuts are really going to come out of the woodwork!
