USPS shipping?

Does anyone know if I can ship a SLIDE ONLY back to Springfield Armory for a repair? The USPS website says it's ok to ship to factory for repair but them goes on to say it's not???
Also, isn't only the receiver of a handgun considered a "gun?"

Yes you can ship the slide or any other parts. If you ship the frame, it can not go via USPS unless it's shipped FFL to FFL.
