Anyone shot one????

I have read some great things about them, but haven't seen one yet.

John Farnam Called it a "Glock with an exposed hammer"

It is the best double action trigger on the market. And that's coming from someone that can care less about HK pistols. When I fired the LEM gun, was totally shocked and surprised about how slick the trigger felt. Good gun!

I've been hearing about that for a while, but have not heard whether it will ever be available for existing HKs. I wouldn't mind being able to put one of those on a USP.

I have one that I bought from McDonald Tactical a few months ago. The trigger is excellent, very differant from other short stroke DAO(Glock, Kahr and LDA). This thing is so smooth and the reset is traditional DA/SA style, hammer stays back untill the trigger is released. I have 700 rounds through mine with no problems.

Drizzt,

The LEM gun was made specifically for a police contract. They lost. Guess that HK was so positive that they were going to get this contract, that something in the neighborhood of 900 guns were made. Guns were sold to LE stocking dealers and some were converted for civilian use (hi cap replaced). Gun was sold to dealers at a bargain and even with replacing the magazines, LEM gun was selling for $650. That included night sighs.

Guess everyone will know if the guns will be offered again at Shot Show in two months.

Never heard of the LEM. Can it be added to existing USP's or is it more complicated then this. Would this not be like Variant 7? I checked McDonald Tactical and they just listed it without pictures of any kind.

I just spoke with HK. According to the customer service rep, they are not currently modifying existing guns, only selling new guns with the LEM trigger. Most of those are going to law enforcement agencies. According to him, the LEM parts are in short supply due to the INS contract that they are currently filling. (I have a buddy who is in the INS and they are currently buying a bunch of HK UPSc .40s with the LEM trigger.)

The rep said that they plan to make the LEM trigger available to us non-LEOs as a retrofit installed at the factory. But he didn't know when that would be.
