Are the serial numbers on the Frame, SLIde and Barrel on a USP 45 supposed to match?

Mine don't and I'm stressing over it. because the copied the sn off the slide not the frame

The serial numbers on my USP9 match. Was the gun sold as new? Are all three serial numbers different? Contact HK - 703-450-1900.

Chink,

All three sn are matched on my compact USP. You better call HK to see what's going on. Or check with your dealer who you bought it from.

thanks guys, thats what I thought. I bought it used from some guy. But in Ca, everything goes through an FFL. i would be concerned it the FFL took the number off the frame, but they took the number off the slide.

HK has not record of the gun being in the shop for repair, and obviously, the guy I sold it to says thats how it was new. taking it back tomorrow, or tonight if I get a chance.

They should ALL match. I have heard of dealers taking a barrell off one New gun they have in stock to replace a bad one they have already sold. They send the bad one back for an exchange.

The problem is that the New gun now has an unmatching barrell. This could be what happened with yours.

HK would have no record of this b/c they sent a replacement barrell for the first gun, not the New one. I'm not sure if that made sense the way I wrote it...

chink,

What parts match and what parts don't? How far off are the numbers? (Just curious. It'll help me form my own conspirasy theories.)
