USP Compact vs. G19

I don't know about felt recoil, but I've fired the Glock and toyed with the HK extensively. Neither should have much recoil to worry about.

I would get the HK over the Glock in a heartbeat. I couldn't shoot the Glock worth a darn, but that's not why. I LOVE the Variant 1 setup on the HK. It has every choice you could want, available simply with one safety lever. You can go cocked and locked, double action and locked, double action and unlocked--everything.

I saw one today for $570 that I would've got if it were in 9mm but it was .357sig.

I've had both the Glock 19 and a USP Compact stainless 9mm. In my opinion the USP Compact was a softer shooter than the Glock 19. I liked my USP Compact better than the Glock because of the way it felt/fit in my hand, the size & shape, the variant 1 mentioned above, and the excellent quality & accuracy. It was nice solid gun. With that said, I no longer have it because I wanted a 9mm that had hi-capacity mags available and there are NO hi-caps for the USP compact (I do miss it though). If you don't have the need or desire for hi-caps I'd go with the USP Compact hands down. (I don't have the Glock 19 anymore either but I do have a Glock 17 and 34).

Both are phenomenal. I have a G19, but wouldn't hesitate to add a USP Compact to my lineup.

In my range experience, the G19 was quicker with followup shots. That's for me, though, and different folks have different opinions and results.

You're not going to mess up with either.

What have you tried at the range?

I haved fired both and I really like the USPc 9mm. Am thinking of getting that one also in the future.

I've owned BOTH, but not in the same caliber...the USP-C I have is in .357 Sig...still have the USP, DO NOT have any Glocks currently...IF I was looking for a "Plastic" double-stack 9mm, I'd choose the USP-C over the Glock...just "Feels Better" in MY hands....mikey357
