USP 45 Compact Questions

Does anyone know if the hammer from the full-size USP 45 will go in the Compact USP45? I like the compact model, but want the ability to cock the hammer.

Are there any advantages, other than size, to the Compact?

I believe it does work, the trick is trying to actually find one to install on your compact

Spurred hammer is listed as item 46B -- Identification #214825 (complete) or #214687 in my HK USP Compact Manual.

'Tis the standard component with Variants 9 and 10 (safety w/no decock option).

You should be able to get one from Brayley Ballistics .

Talk to Nigel there. He will be able to get you the part and tell you if it will fit (I believe it will).

Compact uses a different part. Interesting note... I tried to order a spurred hammer for my usp .40c from HK. They would sell me the part, but they required my to send in my gun AND they would not return the original bobbed hammer.

So... if you can buy the part from a third party and keep your original, do it. It is not difficult to change the part, but you might want to have a smith do it, and you can change the hammer spring to a Wolff at the same time.
