Useful in a ghost attack?

Listening to Opie and Anthony this morning, they were talking about scary things that happen in your own home. Everything from strange sounds to seeing a ghost. People were saying the stories got so scary they would leave a loaded pistol to them when they were in the shower. It got into a discussion about if a firearm would really work against a ghost. Against a zombie it is beileved to be a good weapon, but against a ghost it was figured to not be able to do anything. Maybe slow it down at the most, but probably would have no use at all. Personally I think that in a ghost attack even a very powerful gun would not do anything.

Your thoughts?
 
There is no such thing as ghosts. If you are shooting at ghosts, or even tempted to shoot at ghosts you lied on Form 4473.
