I have a Charles Daly Mauser that was originally a 300WM, I had always wanted a 264WM so I decided that this would be the donor rifle. I ordered a 26", 2.5 contour barrel from Shaw.
I always thought that the original synthetic stock was very flimsy like most injection molded pieces. I found a used B & C carbelite stock for 35 bucks. It seemed to be alot more substantial in strength and stiffness and I thought it was a good deal.
I just don't know what to do next, the used stock had already been glass bedded, what are the chances that this wll fit my gun. Can I just rip that bedding out or is it stuck there? I was also wondering about pillar bedding the stock, is it worth it? Any ideas would be great.
Thanks
Nick
