used Sig P-226 a good buy

A frend of mine is interested in buying a used sig Saur p-226. It comes with (3) 15 round sig magazines and (1) 10 round magazine. The guy is asking $300 for it. He bought it used from a dealer and has shot only 500 rounds through it.

Is it worth the buy and has anyone had experience they can relate with it.
 
A good buy especially considering the magazines. Used with one 15 rounder is about $349-$389 in VG-Ex condition through one of the wholesalers who deal in police turn ins.
 
That sounds too good to be true. Sig factory mags run $50+ each. Used P226's without those mags are around $400+. Make sure they aren't LE magazines. I'd give it a good looking over to see how worn it is. Just hope it's not a stolen gun or something.
 
Yeah, just to be really paranoid, I'd make sure the barrel wasn't bulged/ringed or something like that from a bad handload. The price is too good to be true, and such things...usually aren't!
 
My friend said the guy needed money. He knows him and said he knows it is a steal but you know how tight things can get at times.
 
I wouldn't hesitate to buy that pistol.

I agree completely about checking the gun over, but worst case, even a new barrel is only $200 from RBParts, so that makes the gun $500 with those high caps, I still think it's a deal.

I'd want to see the original bill of sale, too.

A fantastic deal if the pistol is in good shape. I recommend you spend a few dollars and have a reputable gunsmith check it out. If the seller refuses such a proposition, walk away.
 
Great deal but maybe too great. Make sure those 15-rounds are factories and not Pro-Mags.

Check it out mechanically then buy it quick!

He said he is buying it. And by the way the guy said they were factory mags and he knows he is selling it cheap. He is broke and needs money asap.
