Used S&W model 10 price

I was looking at a mint used S&W model 10 today. It is nickel plated with no scratches other than the pawl marks on the cylinder. Looks virtually brand new. It has the 4 inch heavy barrel. They wanted 225 for it. Does this sound like a good price? They also had a five inch (I think) five screw model 10 in 98% condition for 250. This had the standard weight barrel.

I tried to trade my mint bulgarian mak (arsenal) with 16 mags, holster, and 650 rounds of factory ammo for the first m10. I was surprised that they didn't bite at all. I would've tried to get some cash out of the deal of course, but I figured they would have at least made an offer...

Thanks

Used older S&W10 got for about $200 here, plus or minus a bit. Newer SW10s are worth less but yours is in better condition, so probably a wash. BTW, I'd hold on to the Bularian Mak (I thought of trading mine for a SW10 but decided to wait and save up instead)
SW10 is next on my list: great balance, awsome trigger and accurate as heck!

If you want a nickel plated revolver, that sounds like a good deal. Don't worry about the drag mark from the cylinder stop; a brand new one will have that mark in a box of ammo anyway. It is just normal S&W.

I just bought a M10 4 inch in 90+% condition blued taper barrel at Steichers Police Supply in Mpls Mn. Paid $130 and it had sat there for months. Cop watched me buy it and said, " I see you're buying one of those guns with the THING that goes around."
Most M10's gun about $150-$175 depending on condition. I like the OLD ones. Smooth as glass and craftsmanhip you wont believe.
The gun was marked DPD and #84 stamped on the frame. Shoots like a dream and I'm trying to wear it out. I have three M15's and enjoy them as much. The K-frame line is great. But then again I'm an old geezer.

Still got my M&P I bought for $65 25 years ago. Thousands of rounds later and it still shoots as good as I can aim it. I haven`t seen one used in a long time but most guys held on to them when they retired. Sentimental value for me as my aunt bought it for me when I graduated.

$225 for a nickel Model 10 in like-new condition sounds like a reasonable price. By comparison, the local gunshop in my area has a somewhat worn, blue Model 10 (RB, 2") in the display case for $229 (ouch).
