I just picked up a like-new 686 with a 2.5"
barrel and the really nice finger-grooved factory
hardwood grips for 295. Was this a reasonable
price?
I checked the gun over very carefully before I bought
it, but I just noticed that there is some part
rattling internally when I shake it. I'm careful
to hold the cylinder, latch, hammer, and firing
pin while trying this. I took off the grips and
nothing is loose under there. Could this be a problem?
The lockup is real tight, and I checked the timing
by cocking it for each chamber while dragging a finger
on the cylinder.
My model 60 does the same thing, but to a somewhat lesser
extent. I guess I'm just anal.
thanks
