I am beginning to see some for sale adds on my local email bulletin board to the effect:

"Must sell and am not making any money this, selling for what we have in it. Never Fired and one 30 rnd mag.
M4 Flat top upper, adj. stock, mid-length gas system, mid-length rail handguards, removable A2 sights, 30 rnd mag and heavy barrel
$2000"

I think we may be seeing lots more of this type of stuff here in the near future as folks realize they spent the grocery money in a panic!

Now, just to wait for them to start lowering the prices!

Anyone else seeing it?

Check armslist, starting to see Colt ARs at their normal $1200 price point. Ammo is a different story, used to be able to get the 1080 round tuna cans of 5.45x39 for $150, LGS is trying to sell one for $330 ish. Don't even bother with surplus .308, dang near impossible to find.

he is already $500 too high.

Thats my point! When they start saying "selling for what we have in it" and the price is $500 more than it is worth, you know they spent the mortgage on the rifle and are now truely "in a panic"! His price will come down, when his priorities become evident!

I suspect so will alot of others.

I remember when I first built my AR a year or so ago, my stripped lower receiver was 90$ (not a name brand, but never had issues with it). All LGS in my area have them at 300$-350$. The AR parts are already available in my area, I will start getting excited when I'm not dropping the amount it cost me to complete a nice lower receiver on a stripped one.

Funny you post about this. I was just browsing through this little classified paper here and came across a listing for a S&W AR 15 for $1500.
A Bushmaster AR 15 (New) +3 mags $2400.
And a DPMS Panther AR 15 223, with 600 rds of ammo and some other stuff, never been shot.. But have to call for price.. Uh huh...
Oh wait..look... and another new Bushmaster AR 15 with 6 - 30 rd mags and 180 rds ammo. $1600.

It's in full bloom around here apparently...

I remember a member here saying this kind of thing would happen very soon.
I'm sure you're not referring to me, but I made several statements along those lines, in this very forum. ;)

The pattern is quite predictable.

It's called "Buyers-Remorse"... :)

I don't own any black rifles, but if you own or buy a so called assault rifle now, & the AWB ever becomes law, won't you end up with an expensive gun you can't sell or take out to shoot?

BTW: Funny thing, now that someone is threatening to tell me that I can't have one, I really have an itch to get an AR!!!

It is possible and several other countries have passed bans that operated as such, but the previous AWB and the ban now in the senate don't restrict pre-ban guns and I think it would be extremely hard for one to do so on the national level.

It might be hard on a national level but not on a state level.

One would think there would be a gun saturation point reasonably soon. These things aren't cheap.

I went to one of our larger LGSs last week. The Wall-O-Handguns behind the counter was still pretty bare, but I saw 5-8 EBRs for sale. I hope that means that the buying panic is running out of steam.

I sold an an AR a week and a half ago to a LGS for what I had in it. I built it over four years ago out of a RRA upper, lower and adjustable stock. It had a single stage trigger and flip-up rear sight and I had never run a round through it. I mentioned that I was going to sell it for what I had in it and he jumped on it when I told him $875. I was surprised since I've been seeing Ars on the shelf here and there. I turned around that afternoon and picked up a new RRA Elite Operator II for $1,099 at another LGS. I didn't wait for the panic selling.

Of course, ammo is still AWOL.
