Used gun prices?

I have been searching the internet looking for some kind of guide in which I can put a value on a hand gun I want to sell. But I can't seem to find anything to help me. Plenty of info is you want to figure out the value of a used car, but I find nothing for used guns. Does anyone know of an internet source for looking up the value of used guns? :confused:
 
The best way I have found to get a real value of a used gun is to use gunbroker:

1) Create an account, if you don't already have one.
2) Select "Advanced Search"
3) Up at the top of the search box, select the option for searching "Completed Auctions"
4) Enter your firearm in the search box
5) Find the drop-down menu for how you want results sorted, and sort from most bids to fewest.
6) Hit search

By doing it this way, you are looking at what people are paying for your gun, not what people are asking for your gun (Don't forget to take shipping cost and FFL transfer into account). You can browse through the listings to find one that is in similar condition based on the pictures and description provided.
 
I'd say lucky for us that gun sales are not "tracked" as car sales are. I'll simply add another large on-line site to the couple already mentioned, GunsAmerica. If you can find listings for the exact same type firearm, they can give you an idea of what "value" might be. With used firearms condition is everything, so it can be difficult to research a firm value at times. Good Luck!
 
The best way to get a good value on a gun is to take a couple of good pictures of it here and post it here. 10-20 people will offer a value or range of values. Add them up and take an average and you will have a more accurate, truthful valuation than any high-dollar gun appraiser will ever provide you.
