Used BLR? What to look for?

I'm meeting a guy about a 2006 model Browning BLR. What are some things I should be looking at/for to determine if I should make the deal? Thanks.

I have a BLR in 358 Win. with a 200 grain bullet. It is my #1 choice for Michigan monster bucks up to 200yds. It is light weight, compact, well balanced and powerful. I have been using it for about 20 yrs. I is accurate at about 1 1/4" groups. When I hits a deer it goes down now. It has less kick than a 30/06
I have a Leupold 1x4 scope mounted on it. On 1 power it is like looking through a window witch is great for close fast shots. On 4 power it is all I need for farther fine placed shots. The nice thing about the 358 Win. is the bullet doesn't explode destroying excessive meet like a bullet moving 2900>fps. and it gets super penetration. The rifle is nice looking and tough. In my opinion the BLR is the best lever action on the market.

Yes, they are beautiful. I went ahead made the trade. I was worried because I know the BLR is a complicated firearm and I might not know what some of the signs of trouble might be.
The gun is stunning and the action is smooth as butter, with no bolt play when locked up. The hammer drops when the trigger's pulled and the half Vick safety works. Other than that I'll have to wait until I get to the range to see how it cycles and shoots.
I must say I feel I got the better half of this deal. I traded my S&W VTac9 for it.

Note when I first purchased mine I found that the bolt required to be closed with a small snap to allow the bolt to fully seat. I beleave it needed to be broke in. I haven't had that issue for quite some time. Oh and keep the bolt assembly clean and lubed to keep it in good operation. What will you be shooting in your BLR?
