used beretta price?

So I found a used beretta 20ga model 391 standard for 600. Is this a good price? The gun looks brand new, barely ever shot. I think they are very attractive looking guns and prefer 12 but a 20ga should be fine for skeet and small game. What do you think? I did also find a nice used beretta urika in 12ga for 750, of course this is synthetic and not as perdy as the standard.
 
I've seen better prices for used 20's. Go to shotgunworld.com and someone has one there for cheaper. If you're going to do skeet your putting yourself at a severe disadvantage by starting out with 20 ga. And will probably get frustrated. Just my opinion though.
 
I'd buy an excellent condition 20 gauge 391 for $600 in an instant. They are very good guns and that is a very fair price.

The 20 gauge is just fine for both skeet and small game. It's not a "severe disadvantage." What most often frustrates new clay shooters is not learning how to shoot the games properly.

Thats a good price on a 391, assuming its in good working order, and not too much exterior wear. Fine, versatile shotgun.....you will enjoy it;)
 
There's no real perceptive disadvantage shooting skeet with a 12 or 20 - not at 21 yards. If the gun is in good condition, I second Dave's vote - buy it.
 
Yes, it looks 99%, who ever brought it in couldn't have put more than a few boxes through it. Would a 3" .20 ga be close to equivalent to a standard 12ga loading?
 
There were few times I felt the need for a 3" 20 gauge load, and that was back when lead was legal for waterfowl and we were hunting geese in ND. Even a 2-3/4" 1oz load, while great for wild pheasant, really isn't necessary for too much unless turkey and deer are included. For upland birds and clay games the basic loadings work really well.
 
A 2 3/4" 20ga shell - can be purchased or reloaded in 3/4 oz, 7/8oz or
1 oz ...

1 oz is a common load in 12ga competition ( its almost the only thing I shoot for Trap, Sporting and Skeet - and 7/8 oz of course is standard in a 20ga load - and 3/4 oz of shot is standard in a 28ga load.

So you don't need a gun chambered in 3" to make the 20ga a real effective gun / a 20ga gun chambered in 2 3/4" is just fine ( but you can load a 12ga down or up as well )....
 
Man, I just can't decide yet. I am undecided between this mint/used beretta 20ga or a new browning 12g BPS. I many will be hunting small game and shooting skeet so I am sure they will both do fine. I would love to own the beautiful beretta but I think the BPS is more versitile if I want to hunt deer with it or hunt some big birds later down the road. The price is about the same with the browning about 50 bucks cheaper. Someone just decide for me please:confused:
 
Buy the Beretta. The 20 gauge with 3" chambers and magnum shells will do just fine on ducks and even geese unless the distances are outrageous. A 20 gauge slug will do well on deer as well.

There is nothing wrong with the BPS except that the loading procedures for any bottom loading/ejecting pump gun is not as convenient and a pump gun in general makes skeet shooting a little tougher.

You want a gun today for small game, upland hunting and skeet. The Beretta is close to perfect. The BPS not so much.
 
Yeah, I probably wouldn't use it for deer anyways, especially how expensive a slug barrel would be for it. I do like how light the beretta is also. Well, if they still have it tomarrow I think I will get it. Thanks for all the input from everyone!
