A guy I know ask today if I would buy his 650 Dillion . It has most all options Case Feeder Roller Handle the High Mount . It is set up for 38 Super .

It is an older 650 (he bought it new) But clean and in good condition and looks very nice .
He is asking $500.00 the price sounds ok ????

Good price or not

I can guess with a fairly high degree of certainty that your friend selling the Dillon bought it so he could save money on ammunition; but had no appreciation for the craft of loading. Maybe this one is not such a case, but it's not uncommon. Lucky for us real handloaders, the result is a fair amount of good used equipment for sale.

Assuming the press really is in good shape and hasn't been bang around and up, it's likely to be a very good buy.

Go get it.

This is completely irrelevant. It could have been dragged behind a pickup truck it would still be a good deal, because Dillon will fix it.

I already have a Dillon 550 and 650 and a Foraster CO-AX plus an old Rock Chucker ? At this time I reload for my self my son (a Hunter) and two friends . I will soon be 70 years old but really do not need more stuff .
At this time I,m loading about 1800 pistol rounds a month and some rifle .

My son will reload IF I make him do it but he does not have the Passion .
He is a hunter and not a shooter
At some point he will have my stuff and I will have him set up .

Words have meaning. Most definitely NOT irrelevant on any scale.

If it did have problems, someone would need to troubleshoot them.
Then contact Dillon.
Then possibly package up parts or ALL.
Then ship it.
Then wait.
THEN get it back and start from square one.

Still worth buying? Certainly, and your point about their service is helpful.

But it's condition being completely irrelevant?! Not.

I knew a guy who bought a trashed 650 for a good price. Put it in a box, shipped to Dillon and 2 weeks later got a completely rebuilt press back. $35 in shipping charges was all it took.

I have also heard the one about the enraged wife or ex-wife that smacked one with an axe and the guy whose house burnt down.

I just bought my second 650 and have had a number of 550s.

Dillion is great at repairing used equipment and fantastic at sending replacement parts when needed.

For$500 you simply cannot go wrong.

Buy it. Set it up for your most used caliber and enjoy.

A caliber change runs about $90 each, but with what he's offering you're getting $1,000 worth of gear for $500.

You can sell the .38 Super setup on Ebay and get some bucks back. Keep everything else.

Feel free to PM me his e-mail if you decide you have enough gear. I run a 550 but would love to set up a 650 for the small primer stuff.

I'll come get it.

Jeff

$500 with the case feeder, I would buy it even if I didn't intend to use it.

Wait until Hillary gets elected and sell it on eBay. After Obama part II and sandyhook I sold one of my 650's there for over $1800, had a new 1050 in two weeks...
