I was at the range the other day with my new toy, NM Blackhawk in .41 Magnum, and there was a lady firing a .44 Magnum and wearing shooting gloves.
She said they were Gripswell gloves and they were strictly for abrasion purposes. The wood grips rubbed her hand on extended shooting sessions. It got me to thinking. 1) How many of you wear gloves when you shoot and what brand and 2) If you need them isn't that an indication the gun MIGHT be a bit big for you?
 
I wear them.

Do I need them? Probably not.

In a 3-4 hour range trip though, I will expend a large ammount of handgun ammo, from .22LR up to .50 S&W Mag. They do keep my hands from tiring out before I'm outof ammo......
 
i'll wear them for extended [read: all day] range visits. i dont have 'shooting' gloves per se, i use Mechanics gloves. they keep the crud off of my hands when loading mags, especially the HK 9x rilfe mags, for some reason those get real messy.
 
To be honest I had never given it a thought until I saw her wearing them. A search of the net reveals that they seem to be more popular with long distance shooters and shotgunners. There only seem to be a couple of companies who make/sell them for handgun shooters but quite a few for shotgunners and the long distance shooters.
 
i wear the manzanella grip dot gloves when shooting my long guns. especially when throwing/shooting clays they get all blackend from handling them. i don't do alot of pistol shooting every year. maybe once a year for 2 hours.
