USAS Pistol events: Standard, Free, Sport, What's the difference?

I was a competitive shooter for 10 years before graduating from high school, and now I'm looking to get into some USAS matches, and continue competing in smallbore pistol. I've come across pistol matches for Standard Pistol, Sport Pistol, Free Pistol, and Rapid Fire pistol, but I can't find clear rules for any of these anywhere. What are the main differences between these events?

ALL of the events that were cited in the OP are classed as International Pistol, as opposed to the NRA Conventional Pistol competition.
They use different targets and do not allow any optics...iron sights only. Two of those events - Free (or Precision) pistol and Rapid fire pistol are Olympic events.

Differences: The Free pistol - one can use any .22 if they wish but mostly competitors use highly specialized "free" pistols to compete....wraparound grips, bore inline with the bones of the forearm, set triggers often set at two ounces, long sight radius, single shot. The event is fired at 50 yards/meters. It is a course of 60 shots fired over a two hour period (time can change to a degree).

The wire by the barrel is for attaching weights so as to adjust the balance.

PS - ten years before HS….You started at eight. What were you shooting at that age?
