Usage of S&W 5900 Pre-Ban Mags In a Kel-Tec P-11??

Has anyone out there used pre-ban mags for a 5900 S&W
for there Kel-Tec p-11 and if so have you had any problems as far
as jamming or reliablility.

I had one in mine and it shot well. I did order the grip adapter for it, it made the grip longer and was easier for me to shoot. the only problem was the slide wouldnt lock back after the last shot.

Have used 5906 and 6906.
Also used finger piece off of 6906 on Kel-Tec mag.
As noted above, lock-back was on and off.

P.S. This was during my make them all the same era; had 5906, 6906, Kel-Tec, and Marlin 9mm carbine. Tons of mags in 5906 and 30-round flavors.:p

I thought about getting a Smith & Wesson high cap mag for my Kel-Tec P-40, but the darned thing stuck out the grip and made carrying the gun in your pocket impossible. So I didn't buy it.

Just for information, you can go all the way back to the original S&W Model 59 mags. I have the 59 and 5906 and they are totally interchangable.

I have one 459 mag and one 6906 mag that both work 100% in my P-11 (including slide lock back). Since they make the gun quite a bit larger I use them mostly at the range and for spares. Marcus

I have 1 M59 (14rd), and 1 M5900 (15rd) S&W factory mag for my P11. I use the Kel-Tec adaptor sleeves, and have had 100% reliability. Ditto only using them for range sessions, as they do compromise concealment. I have also tried 2 different brands of aftermarket mags, and neither one would work, as 1 was too large to fit into grip (Ramline), and the other would not seat due to follower / feed lip shape (USA).
