What really scares me is that WE are making no headway while THEY are steadily eating out lunch.
I really dont see how we can reverse the movement.
Does anybody really give a damn?

yes Ed, i do give a damn. i just don't know what else to do other then make our voices heard!!!! anyone got a suggestion??

The problem with today’s society is that no one will take a stand for anything. They are afraid of “getting involved”. You would have trouble getting people to collectively agree on the time of day let alone banding together to improve the quality of life.

There are plenty of people who will get involved. This forum and others I visit are full of intelligent reasonable people who want to help but pretty much see it as futile or unnecessary

Ed. . .
I was referring to the general public rather than guys like us. There is no doubt in my mind that almost everyone who connects to this site has a more than average interest in changing things around.
The general public, unfortunately, is prone to apathy or fear of getting involved.

Yes, I care deeply. But the American public in general is pathetic. The crap that they (we?) condone, the loss of liberties, the fact that we're on a seemingly non-stop slide down that slippery slope... Makes me want to puke.

I agree with Bottom Gun - nobody is willing to take a stand, especially morally. Everything seems to be permissible. Sickening.

So whats the answer?
I see a country who proudly elected Bill Clinton,Barney Frank, John Conyers and Maxine Waters and then I see "HOPELESS" because its only going to get worse.
