URL for SKS or info on a 7.62x30mm SKS

I have tried to find the site, but I have been unsuccessfull. I would appriciate the URL for SKS's site. Trying to find inforamtion for I've been presented the opportunity to buy a 7.62x30mm with an attached 5 round magazine and a collaspable stock. It also has a scope on it which I'm unsure of the power of it. Sweet looking weapon. Any info on this weapon? Thank you for anything you can offer.

SKS isn't a manufacturer, it is the name of a Soviet-designed rifle - per the Gun Digest Book:

'Introduced in 1945, the Samozaryadnyi Karabin Simonova (SKS) was the first rifle chambered for the then-new 7.62mm 'short' cartridge. The gun was made in large quantity, and it has been used at some time by every communist country in the world. Versions of it have been made in China, Yoguslavia, and elsewhere.'

And, it has also been manufactured in East Germany, North Korea, and Yugoslavia, with the highest quality rifles supposedly coming from Russia.

Note, it is actually a 7.62mm x 39mm cartridge - same round as used in the standard AK47.

Note, these aren't usually considered wonderful rifles, so be cautious about what you pay. And, try to go to the range and try it out first.

Also, note the site burrhead posted above has a section called 'Girls and Guns' ... some of the best looking, er ... rifles I've seen in a long time.
