Today I made the decision to trade in my canik s120 (cz75 clone for those that do not know of them). I didn't get rid of it because it was a bad gun by any means...itbwas great actually. It shot very well and was ultra reliable. Anyways it started with me going into the local shop looking at some handguns for/with my girlfriend. We started looking at some CZs and I asked to hold the p09. Fell in love instantly. Especially with this one. It's the FDE (flat dark earth) with the tritium night sights and the option of decocker or manual safety. It struck every key I want in a pistol. So I put it down and keep looking and we ended up leaving.

Next day.

I couldn't get it out of my mind so I packed up the canik and traded it in without hesitation. I'm now the new owner of a CZ P09 FDE. I cannot wait to shoot it.

Who in here has one? Or even the P07?

I've had my FDE 09 for 18 months. All I can say is what a great pistol, accurate, reliable, good looking, and priced less than 550. Around 2500-3000 rounds without a failure what a dandy little pistol.

Don't own one, but I've rented the P-09 at the range and came away impressed. I've always loved the CZ ergos, but the biggest surprise for me was how well the P-09 managed to tame the recoil; I barely noticed any difference from my SP-01, which weighs in at 38 ounces empty.

Once I live in a free state, the threaded P-09 is joining the collection

I have the P07, and I absolutely love it. Great size for concealed carry, but still big enough for easy shooting at the range. Mine came with the +2 mag extensions, so it has almost as much capacity as the P09. I don't think I could complain about it if I wanted to.

Can't tell you a darn thing about a P09 FDE, but you did a very smart thing getting rid of the Canik.

Hey the canik was a superb firearm for the money! Never gave me issues and I beat it up weekly.

That being said the CZ warranty/customer service/parts availability trumps the canik by a lot. Which is one of the main reasons I got into the p09. As well as the omega trigger, 19+1 capacity, decocker or safety..list is big for this gun. It's truly sweet. And at $500 out the door I'm beyond happy.

Personally I would be surprised if you actually had to use the CZ CS. I haven't had the pleasure of trying the omega trigger, but the CZ-75B I tried fit my hand better than any other metal frame handgun on the market. $500 OTD for a full sized handgun is hard to beat. Happy shooting!

Jbigs. I have the P07 and it's a fantastic firearm. I don't think you will be getting rid of the P09. Methinks you've found a companion for life my friend.

I too would be surprised if I ever had to use CZs customer service. And the full metal 75s fit my hand better than the p09 but I needed something a bit lighter and more able to carry when I'm in the woods. I'll be getting a 75 of sorts as a range gun in the future.

I took my friend there yesterday and he ended up buying a p07! Haha

I love the P-series polymer guns from CZ. Just fantastic weapons. Simple, accurate, and reliable. They look really good too as a bonus.

I ordered a Canik from Bud's and promptly sent it back due to the slide overhanging the rear of the frame by about 2-3mm in battery. That kind of "quality control" doesn't thrill me.

I had read a lot of good reviews about the Canik, so I ordered one in spite of my misgivings about Turkish guns after the Regent 100 fiasco, Kirikkale .380 fiasco, and the two Sarsilmaz shotguns fiasco. The Canik certainly followed suit.

It's possible the Turks may just hate me; Regardless, I have finally learned my lessons about Turkish turkeys.

As always, YMMV.

That's odd about the slide being misfit...interesting! Glad I got out of mine though..even if it was a good one haha
