Update: Simmons 22 Mag woes

Thought I would post an update on my problems with a Simmons 22 Mag scope I installed on a Marlin 795. Decided to send it back to Bushnell for repair (~$9 shipping plus a check for $10 S&H). Received it back last month and went to the range to see how things worked. The elevation knob appeared to work very briefly while I was getting the scope sighted back in, but very soon it started exhibiting the same behavior as before (no more effect whatsoever of turning the knob).

At this point I'm calling this a loss and I've learned my lesson on cheap optics. I plan to inform Bushnell how displeased I am but don't expect it to get me anything.

When it came to really serious accuracy regarding an adjustable scope, I tried many low cost options. After a good amount of ok, bad, and so-so experiences, I finally popped for a $450 Leupold with target turret knobs. This scope gave me what I was looking for in being repeatable. I adjust it back and forth to match POA/POI from 40 to 100 meters and it remains spot on. Many can have similar good or bad experiences with lower cost scopes. I needed a higher cost scope to give me what I was looking for in that particular application. I also have Simmons 22Mag scopes on a number of rifles. I did notice one of them seemed to be dragging or lacking regarding adjustments, but the others were fine. Maybe it's random chance if you get a product you can be well pleased with in the lower cost range. But it should be standard in the higher price range.
