Update on the Vektor CP-1 recall.....

Well, I couldn't wait, so I called South Africa this morning. Luckily I was only on the phone for less than 2 minutes. A lady took my name and phone number and within the hour a very nice gentleman returned my call.

He stated that a central location in the United States would be set up for warrenty repairs. He said Vektor would pay for "all" shipping charges and the gun would be gone about 10 days. The warrenty would also be extended one year from time of repair.
He asked that any CP-1 owner e-mail or fax their personal info ie; name, address, phone number and pistol serial number, to Vektor.
E-mail address is kenb@vektor.co.za

Sorry, didn't get the fax number. Figure anyone that can read this can e-mail 'em!

Hope this helps other Vektor owners! C'ya

Knee deep in brass, still shootin fast!

An example of the rule that one should never buy a new design the first year that it's on the market. Maybe Vektor can share recall facilities with the Steyr M Series?

I definitely agree. Though I was under the impression, at least thought I read somewhere, the the CP-1 had been manufactured and used in S. Africa for 2-3 years before release in the U.S.

I'm not sure of the nature of the recall, but it's a great little gun. With a little better trigger pull it could give my P-7 a run for it's money. I kid you not!

Just one quick question. If no one buys a product the first year it is on the market, then how will the compamy make enough money from it to decide to keep it on the market and improve it. Also, if no one buys it the first year, then wouldn't all the guns bought the next year just be the unsold guns left over from the first year?

Just wondering. Good shooting.

Yes, the Vektor CP-1 has been around at least since 1996. Kokalis reviewed the pistol years ago and called it a triumph of human engineering.
