The Unmaking of A Gun Maker; The Rise & Fall of Colt Mfg.
By Matt Bai
An Excellent Article- In my opinion, if you dont read this , you are the looser.
I was unable to copy the article and post it here. Nothing happened when I clicked on select all and copy and nothing happened when I clicked on paste; so you have to go there
to read it.
It seems that Colt management was one of its own worst enemies, they did not realize that liberal anti gun people would never buy a Colt or any other firearm for that matter
and bent over backwards to appease gun grabbers instead of telling them to go f~c~
themselves and were concerned about Colt's
image with their NON Customers while alien-
ating the gun buying firearms community.
Colt was run by non shooters who had no clue about the firearms community of law abiding gun owners.
Colt fell into the same trap Slick & Wesson is in now.
The firearms manufacturers need to realize that gun grabbing anti civil rights politicians are not their friends and that they can not deal with these people who are their enimies and want them bankrupt and out of business.
The firearms manufacturers need to close ranks with their customers; the gun shops and the law abiding gun owners and work with WE THE PEOPLE who are their loyal cusromers as long as they never make a deal with the
anti civil rights politicians.
If firearms manufacturers think that they can cave in to anti gun forces, they risk loosing all their customers.
Most firearms mfg do not realize that they are selling to a nitch market, a small portion of the public who collect their products and I dont mean $1200.oo cowboy guns either,
although there are a few cowboy guns in every ones collection.
I own a few Colt's ,but if Colt thinks that I would ever spent even $800.oo for their cowboy gun, then they have no idea what it means to actually work for a living.
I think Colt's cowboy gun sells for more like 1200.oo any way. It is priced beyond most american gun buyers.
When Colt makes a 400.oo cowboy gun they
will be competitive with Ruger and American Arms and Umberti.
Until then,Colt should see about further
downsizing and selling off assets.
Or ,they should wise up and make ar15"S
lots of them for 500.oo each, retail.
Anyway, the article is good and worth the read.
Colt should sell out to avoid the lawsuits and the new owner will need a
different name, maybe Samuel C's.
I hope Colt reads this and wises up.
I have tested the link above and it works. When you get there, also ,please click on POLITICS TALKS in the left hand frame and on the new page this brings you to, you can click on Submit Questions Now ,if you want
to be involved in a politican discussion about gun rights.
ALSO--I JUST FOUND OUT - after I already posted, there is another
thread on this same subject titled
UNMAKING A GUNMAKER,THE FALL OF AN AMERICAN ICON.
Dear moderator- If you dont mind, can you move this thread under his

myself. Thanks , sorry about the double thread,I try to aviod them when I can catch it. ernest2
