Yes it does, tho it takes a while. Rims get bent, sometimes a round starts to telescope from the spring pressure, and on occasion the crimp get messed up and both buffer(if any) and shot get loose in the weapon. A few 8s can booger up most pumps PDQ, and require disassembly to fix.
Simple fix. Since we all practice frequently with our defense weapons, use the old ammo at the next session, replace with new.
Also, once as an experiment for my old agency, I used all the bent, beat up, leaky old dubious rounds in a fast COF just to see if they worked. They did.
