I have owned a 22L for quite some time now. I really like the rifle but no one, including many gunsmiths, can identify the weapon. It has a half stock and is made like a field rifle ( heavy barrel ) the only marking I have found on it is the name Sportsbushe on the barrel. Can anyone help me out here.

Moved to Harley's forum. BTW, I concur with Mike about its Germanic origins. Something about its Germanic name is a clue.

unkown .22L single shot rifle

I need help with the manufacturer of a .22L single shot rifle. It has a wooden half stock. The action reminds me of the old springfield single shot 22. The only marking on the barrel says Sportsbushe. Can anyone help me out? Every gunsmith I have taken it to dosn"t have a clue.

Could be a problem

NO cam and the rifle is currently in missouri Im in california..... sorry

Sportsbushe?

Bushe is a German word isn't it? Translates to "gun"? Many old european arms factories put hardly any stamped lettering on their firearms, so I'd reckon your gun would be European.

I don't know anything about the word "bushe", but it might be German.
