Just bought 2 cans, thought I'd let you know.
Haven't been able to find any Unique for the last two years, Universal was used for shot gunning before the shortages but it makes a really good substitute for Unique, as a matter of fact, seems to be a better choice.
Meters better, less smoke and smaller charge weight for the same velocity.

I really like Universal, it was my first powder when I started reloading. Haven't seen it in years.

I have noticed powder is showing up on the shelves lately, stuff I haven't seen in three years.

All of the "Clays" series of Hodgdon powders were not only the victim of politics and a wild & crazy market, but a major production snafu had all of it off the market for more than a year. One of the machines used specifically in it's manufacture was destroyed in a fire.

That it has been "missing" from the market were for compounded reasons. It is definitely great to see it back, it truly is the only powder I wish to use in 9mm and I have quite literally made tens of thousands of rounds of 9mm with Universal. (including 600 rounds of it that I made today! ;))

It seems to me that if all the folks along the supply chain have ANY control over things, the stuff is going to be produced to the fullest possible extent. I am sure many of us have missed these powders. I will readily admit that I never did miss it -- I got plenty worried of course, but being a shooter through the Clinton years taught me some things about not being hosed when politics screws up an otherwise smooth market. :D

There is talk that all of the Clays line is going to be discontinued, I think I saw it over on the S+W forum. :(

Never used it for semi auto's preferring W231/HP38 for that application.
Use it mostly for .357, .44 and .45 Colt with cast SWC's.
Might have to give it a try now that Sevens has mentioned it.
