Universal "Vulcan" Model 440 Carbine

I have a small collection of .44 Magnum carbines and rifles I've accumulated over the years. One of the oddest is a pump-action carbine made or imported by Universal Firearms Company in the late 1960's.

I've only seen one or two other Vulcans at gun shows during the last thirty years. Universal was noted more for their .30-caliber M-1 carbines and the
.44 is basically a modification of this design. (In the 1967 Shooter's Bible, a Vulcan carbine is shown on Page 158.)

Somewhere I've read that one of the gun magazines published an article about the Vulcan during it's production. Has anyone ever seen this article? I would like to find a copy.

Thanks.

I have a hazy memory of an article in Shooting Timesin 1966 or 1967. IIRC the Vulcan was based on the M-1 Carbine but was a pump action.
