Unique Model L reassembly

Hello,
I have had this gun for years and have taken it apart and re-assembled many times. It's been a few years I took it apart very easy, but now I'm having trouble putting it back together. Someone please help. Mainly just getting the barrel and slide put back on. Without the spring in the slide will go all the way back, to be able to insert the barrel. But withe slide spring in it just goes so far.
