Copy and circulate to gun owners who are union members.

Washington, DC 20030

We the undersigned gun owners, being both union members and none too bright, vote for Democratics. Therefore, in order to save the Government time and money, we are affixing our names, addresses, and a list of firearms owned. When you decide to confiscate privately-owned firearms, come to us first so we may swiftly comply.

We realize that it is for our own good.
And for the children, of course.

Signed,

Sorry, Woodit, but not all union members are "none too bright," as your post suggests. Many are already taking action against the union bureaucracy, specifically the AFL-CIO for supporting candidates that would steal our rights.

As a matter of fact, I think that the people who are doing this are quite bright for taking a pro-active course and for not insulting our potential allies.

Excellent! Wish it were happening here in the PRM -- a wholly owned subsidiary of the National Education Association.

Not ong ago I came to s atop light in Lexington, MA, where the American Revolution started, and home of Hanscom Air Force Base, which houses the USAF Electronic Systems Command, one of the Air Force's biggest commands and biggest employers of civilian talent. At the light I noticed the car in front of me. It was a Gold Mercedes 300 and there were TWO cell phone antennae on the back window. Looking through the window I saw the driver holding a cell phone to each ear. She had a lot of heavy gold jewelry. On the back of her car were several bumper stickers:

"Proud Member of the NEA"

"Proud to be a Union member"

"Ban Guns"

and

"Won't it be great when teachers have all the money they need and the air force (sic) has to hold a bake sale to buy a bomber?"

Definitely a proud, gun-grabbing, very rich union member, and, in my experience, typical.

Thanks for the pointer to the other note.
But if my post makes just a few robotic Dem-voting union members think a moment, I'll be satisfied.

A lot of union members won't be voting Democrat this year, despite what their leaders say. Many members are pro-gun and know better and others are still angry over the China trade agreement. While registering voters at the Indy 1500 2 weeks ago many union members admitted to me that they won't vote Democrat no matter what their unions say. :)

Yes I am a member of a union that is part of the AFL-CIO. It is not the NEA. I have great respect for teaches, even though my mother-in-law was a teacher :-). My wife taught high school Spanish before we got married. I saw how she worked to educate her students and it was darn hard. Having said that, I do not like the fact that many unions have come out in support of the Democrats, the party that gave us NAFTA, GAT, and support for illegal immagrants. This TFLer does not have a "union boss", whatever that is. I will be voting both nationally and locally for pro-second amendment supporters. One of those is other than Gore. The other one that I will vote against is the Democrat that was elected two years ago. His firearm voting record is scored as a "F" by our state shooters alliance. His oponent has a solid pro-second amendment record. Enough said.

It chills me that the unions can influence elections so heavily. A union friend of mine said he got the usual mailings from the union telling him to vote for Gore. Imagine if the CEO of a corporation sent a memo to his employees telling them who to vote for. Yes, I know that union guys become members voluntarily (wink, wink), but this amounts to a shakedown.

I sure hope you folks are right about union members voting for Bush.

Monkeyleg;

That's why we have the secret ballot (at least so far). As a former union member, I guarantee you I voted the way I wanted, not just because a union officer told me to. All the union members I've ever met also used a secret ballot. Who's to say HOW they voted?

------------------
If "the people" in the 1st, 4th, 9th & 10th amendments, means "the people", why do some folks think "the people" in the 2nd amendment means "the state"?

I'm a union member. I don't recall ever being asked if I wanted to join. I DO recall being informed that if I become two months behind in paying my dues I will be suspended. Then I have to pay $500.00 if I want to work. Brotherhood is a wonderful thing. :p

My union journal came last week. Lots of writing about sticking with your union brothers and sisters in spite of your core beliefs. "Support working families!" blah! blah! blah! Are business owner's familiy's NOT working families?

Also lots of writing about how they would'nt think of influencing your vote, and yet, futher back in the magazine I find Al Gore bumper stickers and window stickers. Still, I'm not too upset. At least I got a few free stickers for my target shooting. :D
