Undersized primer

This is a first for me.

Priming some CCI SRP, one just slid right into the pocket with zero effort. At first I thought the case was defective so I popped it out and tried another, different headstamp but it did the same thing.

The calipers show a normal one is .176", this one is .173".

Odd.

Hmm, sounds interesting. Small Rifle and Small Pistol are the same size. Is it just that one primer or is the whole box the same way? You should contact CCI and explain the issue, they may send you a new box of primers if there is a problem with that box.

I can sit here and tell you for sure that the same thing has NEVER happened to me. Pretty sure I'm over 100k and that is one I have never run in to.

I know Sevens, me either. That's what makes it so weird.

Not quite to 100k just yet, maybe 50k.

It was just that one primer, the rest were fine.
