Unbiased Political Info

Just wondering if anyone knows of an unbiased political information site to be able to honestly weigh the Presidential candidates. I'm up in the air whether I'm going to vote for Bush,May write in Alan Keyes instead. Gore is a definate no vote to me. I'm just not 100% convinced on Bush. I do like his VP Candidate, Cheney I believe was a very wise choice. If the ticket was the other way around, well I would go with Cheyney/Bush hands down. I liked Cheyney's actions during the Persian Gulf War. I felt I could really believe what he was saying.
I just don't know enough about Bush to make an honest decision. I do like the way Bush is Asking for my vote,Sounds sincere ?
I really was impressed with Keyes and this is why I'm considering the write in.
If you know of a Real Honest/No BullSh** info site please post so I can honestly decide
Hey thanks for helping a fence sitter :o

Well according to your Sig there is but one choice

loknload/Any write in vote is a waste.
I also like Cheney, he's a tough business
man and that is a plus to the Bush years.
We must turn this country around, the liberals have told us who too like/what to
like, plus trying to take our freedom.

Bush/Cheney for the start we need.

Try this site:
http://www.speakout.com/SelectSmart/

It asks you to rate some rather broadly phrased questions concerning their degree of importance to you and then selects the candidate that best matches your views - it also ranks the candidates and shows the percentage match concerning their views (as well as letting you compare)

My results are below:
1. 76 Harry Browne
2. 71 Alan Keyes
3. 67 George W. Bush
4. 60 Howard Phillips
5. 48 Patrick J. (Pat) Buchanan
6. 44 John Hagelin
7. 28 Albert Gore Jr.
8. 24 David McReynolds
9. 19 Ralph Nader

However, I still voted for George Bush. I would love to see the Libertarians more powerful but it simply isn't going to happen this election and wishing won't make it so.

A vote for Bush is a vote for Keyes.

A vote for Keyes is a vote for Gore.

I truly believe this. Work to get Keyes the votes he needs for NEXT time. Elect Bush. Bush can help Keyes get into a position where he will have a record to point to. He needs something more than "Ambassador".

Are you sure about that? The logical implication of those two statements is that a vote for Bush is a vote for Gore!

OK, I know what you meant, but I just had to point that out... :D

Thanks Barth, That was able to get me off the fence Bush / Cheney. :)
Thats a pretty good informative site.

That's why we keep logic professors locked up in university classrooms. :-)

Actually the expression was not A=B and B=C therefore A=C as you suggest. I apologize if the wording appeared to fit this pattern and caused your knee to jerk uncontrollably.

(Just kidding...your point is well taken. Isn't it a silly-gism?)

:-)

Bartholomew,
I scored 85% Browne, 81% Bush, & 79% Keyes. There has to be something wrong with the quiz, as there is no way these three could be that close on the issues. The up side is, that I only scored 11% with Algore.

I agree that something has to be wrong with the quiz. Here are my results and I know that Bush and Keys are not that close on the issues.

85 Harry Browne
79 Alan Keyes
78 George W. Bush
70 Howard Phillips
65 Patrick J. (Pat) Buchanan
54 John Hagelin
18 David McReynolds
17 Ralph Nader
16 Albert Gore Jr.

If you vote for Keyes, you will not neutralize a Gore vote. As the "third parties" won't win, the race comes down to a Bush and Gore voters cancelling each other out, and see who has more votes - therefore, a vote for Keyes is essentially a vote for Gore.

Not sure how the survey works - but the "strongly agree" and "somewhat" weight each issue - so even though the candidates might not be that close, you might more closely match them because of the different weighting each candidate gives to each issue.

You can compare your responses with the candidates if you are curious I believe...

Let the left wing liberals vote on principle.

With this race you have a choice, do you want Gore in power, with a Dept of Justice that already thinks the RKBA is not an individual right.

Or do you want Bush in there who does respect the RKBA, though he may have some views that some of us do not share. At l east his philosophy is in the right place (his heart, not some pollsters score sheet)

Peace...
Keith

Thanks guys for all the input, I'm voting Bush / Cheney. Only wish I could convince more Goron Sheeple otherwise :(

Well, if they're hunters tell them:

1) Gore is an environmentalist, not a conservationist, he will lock up all that beautiful hunting land if he can. The Clinton/Gore Dept of Fish and Wildlife has already misapproriated hundreds of millions of dollars that should have gone to conservation efforts.

2) If the Clinton/Gore Dept of Justice already thinks that the 2nd Amendment doesn't apply to individuals, how long do you think before Gore nominates justices who decide he's correct. (warning: there are already 2 that think this.)

Gore aint no friend of hunters or sportsmen. His view of America is one where the government controls all the natural resources and taxes everything else.

Peace...
Keith

I dunno how serious this is, but my results...

90 Howard Phillips
78 Alan Keyes
76 Patrick J. (Pat) Buchanan
72 George W. Bush
59 Harry Browne
56 John Hagelin
34 Ralph Nader
33 David McReynolds
23 Albert Gore Jr.

I'm to the point where I'm not going to be voting for a candiate, but against another.

That's a damn sad state of affairs.

Bogie, the last time I voted FOR a Presidential candidate was for Reagan's FIRST term.

I'm in Texas now, so I think I'll vote for Harry Brown. (If it were going to be at all close, I'd have to vote Bush, just to try and stop Algore.)

Bush may not be perfect, but my description of Algore would involve so much profanity I'd get bounced from this board for sure...
