UltraStar 9 mm

Hello,
I couple of years ago I purchased a UltraStar. It has a polymer frame and the slide rails are inside the frame. It was on sale for about $229 new with two extra magazines with it. It has three dot sights but the dots are somewhat small. It also has a hammer drop safety and a pretty good trigger. I bought it because it was cheap but I have had great luck with my Star PD .45 and FireStar .45 also. The Ultra holds 8 rounds of 9mm. Has anyone seen one of these? I don't think that they were very popular as I have never seen another one?
Thanks

Oldspeed,

I too think that the Ultrastar 9mm is a nice gun, the Firestar was nice but restricted by being SA only (hope the 1911 fan club don't see this). The few NIB Stars that I see for sale rarely go over $200, that's great, if not fantastic value for a modern polymer 9mm. These guns were marketed by Interarms, but I think that company has now gone belly up, at least the links to their site no longer work. I would have no hesitation in buying an Ultrastar in 9mm, but I don't know where you could get them now, they are almost certainly victims of the import ban.

The modern Star pistols -- both SA and DA -- are among the best values on the market. I've got two, both SA, that I love.

I think that they just never sold; about two years ago Star drastically lowered the prices trying to buy a market, and even then couldn't sell them.

Mine are reliable, beautifully fit and finished, accurate and a pleasure to shoot.
I recently retired my Kel-Tec P11 (which is a good gun, but hard to shoot) for a Firestar Plus, which is similar in size and MUCH EASIER to shoot well.

(I have other, much more expensive guns, and the Stars are every bit as well made and finished as the far more expensive guns.)

I picked up my Firestar Plus, recently, in a pawnshop in as new condition for $129. A great gun.

Oldspeed,

OT If you need factory mags let me know. I've got some NIB in opened packaging.

So many pistols, so little money.

The first pistol I ever bought was a 9mm Ultrastar. I'm sorry I ever got rid of it. Comfortable, concealably, realiable, it was a great pistol. I'm looking to find another, I want it back in my armoury.
