Armed police close street after 'gunman' sighting
ARMED police officers swooped on a quiet residential street after reports a man was seen with a gun.
Officers carrying rifles and wearing protective clothing were called to Arkleston Road, in Paisley, last night following claims a man was acting suspiciously.
The street was sealed off at around 8pm as armed officers were engaged in a stand-off with a man for more than two hours.
A 27-year-old was arrested but it is not known if he had a firearm and no gun was recovered.
No one was injured during the incident and there was not believed to have been any risk to residents.
