Armed police close street after 'gunman' sighting

ARMED police officers swooped on a quiet residential street after reports a man was seen with a gun.

Officers carrying rifles and wearing protective clothing were called to Arkleston Road, in Paisley, last night following claims a man was acting suspiciously.

The street was sealed off at around 8pm as armed officers were engaged in a stand-off with a man for more than two hours.

A 27-year-old was arrested but it is not known if he had a firearm and no gun was recovered.

No one was injured during the incident and there was not believed to have been any risk to residents.

Maybe the informer was from the future, and was reporting in advance the arrival of the police with guns?
