This looks pretty bad folks. The real thing this time....

------------------------------

New implant technology currently used to locate lost pets has been adapted for use in humans, allowing implant wearers to emit a homing beacon, have vital bodily functions monitored and confirm identity when making e-commerce transactions.

Applied Digital Solutions, an e-business to business solutions provider, acquired the patent rights to the miniature digital transceiver it has named "Digital Angel®." The company plans to market the device for a number of uses, including as a "tamper-proof means of identification for enhanced e-business security."

Digital Angel® sends and receives data and can be continuously tracked by global positioning satellite technology. When implanted within a body, the device is powered electromechanically through the movement of muscles and can be activated either by the "wearer" or by a monitoring facility.

You want to know what's really sad?

They'll probably have sheeple lined up around the block to get one of these things.

Interesting times. Disturbing, but interesting.

Oh man--we were just discussing technology that would allow a government to track your movements, today in my ethics class. Another one to send to the class. Thanks, Dennis.

I don't think the majority will ever get it. I saw this topic on a tech site and the vast majority of "geeks" were all for it. Is it just me or are the sheeple getting dumber every day ?

One outfit marketing it is Juno (the freebie email folks). The pitch is that you can figure out where "son" or "daughter" took your car last night.

Hey Dennis,
I'd dropped a note on the board on the 10th 'o March about the very same thing.
Seems like the current technology for their "Smart-Gun" is being unfolded before your very eyes, huh?

I'd found the story in a "Emergency Preparedness Book",(read- Survival Manual).

Wouldn't it be interesting who's money paid for the R&D on this baby? Watta ya wanna bet, it was you and I?

Big Brother just keeps finding smaller and closer places to hide, doesn't he?

The most foolish mistake we could make would be to allow the subjected people to carry arms; history shows that all conquerers who have allowed their subjected people to carry arms have prepared their own fall.

I can see it now: Just like vaccinations, Government schools of the future won't let parents register the next generation of Uncle Sam's servants until they are implanted with a number/tracking device. Of course many parents, being "educated" in Govt. schools themselves, won't even think to stand up to the Government's authoritarianism and they will comply without so much as a wimper. After all, this device could be used to save the little tyke someday if he is kidnapped, so it's really all for the children, and that means it can't be wrong. Right?

Yep, part of the proposal to IPv6 is unique personal addresses for people. If anyone is interested I can dig up the RFC from Internic. Have your own ID implant and permanant internet address all in one. A dream come true for network admins, and government busy bodies, pet owners and overbearing parents. It's ironic that on New Years eve, the very first commercial of the new century, was an ad for this thing. Well, maybe it wasn't irony, but a look at the future. If you only knew what us geeks had in store for you ;)

If you liked TV and Radio, wait till you get a look at full duplex communication in action. Put a blue cap on the penguin and stuffed turtle, cause those are the real JBTs.

Directly from their web site (emphaisis added mine):

Potential Uses of Digital Angel™
Although still in the early developmental stage, we believe Digital Angel™ could have an array of beneficial potential applications: provide a tamper-proof means of locating and identifying individuals for e-business and e-commerce security; locate individuals, including children, who are lost or who have been abducted; monitor the medical conditions of at-risk patients; track and locate military, diplomatic and other essential government personnel; determine the location or the authenticity of valuable property; track the whereabouts of wilderness sports enthusiasts (mountain climbers, hikers, skiers, etc.).

Ahh, yep. Let's do it for the children...

Use of this device was included in Mrs. Clinton's health plan. Part of NWO, otherwise known as WTO. Ever wonder why the census is taken by the dept. of commerce?? Check it out, it's true.....you and I are assets on a balance sheet. The US government uses it's citizens as IOUs.

Uh, couldn't they include a tracking device, overtly or covertly, in "smart guns"? Add a tracking device to all newborns, for the children, and before long a computer could track any armed people. How could anyone not see this as an extraordinarily bad idea?
