Whats up with all the Avian Flu topics recently......

Is this actually becoming more of a problem or is there just a news slowdown?

this is actually posing to be a serious threat.... whether or not the virus makes the jump in being trasmitted via person to person yet is the big thing.

we know it can jump from bird -> human... but it so far has stopped there

if it learns to make the jump from human to human.... well you can kiss a whole hell of alot of the world's population goodbye

Yep. What you would have is a replay of the 1918 Flu Pandemic, only worse -- greater population densities make for easier spreading of aerosol born pathogens, and now we have the wonders of intercontinental air travel to spread the bug worldwide at the drop of a hat -- it is much harder to isolate the bug to a specific region.

I'm not surprised at all that the current strain of flu bugs are showing resistance to the antivirals we have.

Viri mutate at surprisingly rapid rates.

There is some good news about the Avian Flu however. I was watching O'Reilly last night and he had some doctor or scientist on there discussing things. Said it would take at least 1 year before anything of significance would occur, but it "could" start going from bird to human to human to human. The good news is that if it does morph with a current strain that is passed from human to human, the morphing would effect how lethal the Avian Flu strain would be(less lethal).

Keep your body alkaline (drink raw apple cider vinegar twice daily) and chances are you won't get sick from the flu or anything else.....I haven't been sick in 3 years because of it, and everyone in my family had it last year......well, they're not laughing at "Dad the witch doctor" anymore.....
