Uberti Schofield front sight

I got this gun a few months ago and posted a couple of pictures of it. Put hundreds of rounds through it and enjoy every moment. I have slicked it up internally to improve the action and trigger pull. Also modified the front sight but didn't want to change the character of the gun much. Filed a flat on the once rounded sight and then used a checkering file to add the serrations. Suble change but works better for me.

alienbogey,
I stoned and polished all general contact surfaces. Stoned & polished the sear. Also set the hammer up on a surface grinder [I work as a Tool & Die maker] to remove about .006 from the engagement surface- to reduce the lenght of trigger pull. Reduced thickness of trigger spring by about 10% for now. It is really pretty decent now, although not as slick as my Rugers.

Very nice work. I have 25 years in machining. I love the graduated depth of cut on the sight. very sweet job: I may do that on my Vaquero ;)
