Uberti no frills .45 Colt

Uberti makes a decent revolver but its not going to compare to a Ruger SA for quality or endurance. I've had a 45 Colt/45 ACP SA Regulator of theirs for about 6 years and I just had to have the mainspring replaced after putting around 3K rounds thru it. If you are going to do a lot of shooting with it I suggest trying to find a used Blackhawk or Vaquero.

The brass gripframe shouldn't affect structural strength, as it's not a load-bearing part.

As far as overall strength of the revolver goes, stick with SAAMI-spec (read: mild) .45 Colt loads and avoid "Ruger Only" 300gr Grizzly-stompers and you should be okay.

I bought one of these; it's a nice revolver.

I immediately took it apart; there's absolutely no plastic
on this gun. There was a burr on the frame that would have
marked the case hardening on the hammer that I cleaned up.
A couple surfaces were stoned and I put a bit of leather
between the spring and grip in order to lighten the trigger
a bit.

Mine printed a bit to te left. The front sight is silver
soldered, so it took heat, flux and solder, and some clean-
up to move the front sight over. If you're really into
accuracy I think cutting a dovetail for different front
sight might be the better way to go.

I am very happy with their non-obtrusive, easy to ignore,
make-the-lawyers-happy additional safety solution.

All in all, it's a bargain, and seems to be holding up very
well.

I ordered one last week as my company gave me a 250 gift cert to Cabellas for 25 years. Couldnt think of anything else that I wanted. They are on backorder until Feb.
