Uberti 1873 Cattleman AND Cimarron Model P

The Cimarron website states that their Model P "has long been the most authentic and highest quality reproduction of the 1873 Colt®."
Example of Old Model P

I have a low-end Uberti 1873 Cattleman Millennium which has a brass grip/trigger guard and matte finish. Other than those two issues, I have a difficult time seeing any differences between this gun and the Cimarron Model P claiming to be the most authentic replica.

What differences are there between the Uberti 1873 Cattleman and the Cimarron Model P ?

I'm comparing my Cattleman from 1975 vs. a 2012 Cimarron Model P:

The Cattleman I had had the brass trigger guard and backstrap, while the Model P has steel parts. The Cattleman had the Uberti hammer mounted safety system while my Cimarron has the Swiss Safe safety.

Both guns were extremely well fitted, polished and finished. The Cattleman was poorly sighted, the Model P much better in that respect.

There is scant difference between the two.

I can't speak for the newer Cattleman (which btw come in many trim levels--which is confusing to a lot of first time buyers--including the brass gripfrsme mentioned but also full polish blue/CCH), but my newer (2008) Model P is a but nicer fit and finish than an older all-steel Cattleman I had. Not a quality issue, but Cimarron offers a much broader array of chamberings as well, such as .44 Sp, .38-40, .32-20, etc.

I have an older and a new Uberti Cattleman 45 Colt.

The cylinders got bigger in diameter over the years.
